Terror-Fi Film Festival 2019

The Terror-Fi Film Festival returns to Wellington this Halloween to celebrate the very best horror, thriller, sci-fi, fantasy and action films from around the world. The festival runs from 31 October to 3 November.

This year’s line-up includes New Zealand premiere blockbuster hits READY OR NOT (the riotous horror/action/comedy) and COLOR OUT OF SPACE (the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation starring Nic Cage) - Cage fans will not be disappointed. COLOR OUT OF SPACE comes hot off its World Premiere at TIFF in Toronto.

Also included in this year’s line-up are New Zealand premieres of the quirky Irish horror-comedy EXTRA ORDINARY, stand-out indie sci-fi FREAKS, the mind-bending thriller DANIEL ISN’T REAL, surreal comedy GREENER GRASS, Polish hit THE MUTE … and a special SECRET SCREENING - don’t miss out on that one!

Completing the line-up are special advanced screenings of the new breakout horror hit THE LODGE, reprise screenings of the hilarious South Korean crime comedy EXTREME JOB, and two special retro screenings: Tim Burton’s celebrated classic THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (our special opening night Roxy Horror event) and 25th anniversary screenings of Luc Besson’s classic LEON (starring Jean Reno, Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman).

Helpful booking tips when booking multiple films:
   - After you select get to 'Personal Details' page click 'CONTINUE SHOPPING' this will take you back to the main page, but will hold that current ticket in the basket.
  - Go into next TERROR-FI film you want to buy tickets for and do the same.
   - Repeat until you have got tickets for each film then put in your personal details and click 'NEXT'. This should take you to a credit card form. Finish this and soon after you should receive details of your booking in your email.Click on the below posters to be taken to each booking page.

Please note all TFi films are general admission seating (GA). Cinema doors will open 10mins before each scheduled film.

Why do we make these GA you ask? Well, like most international film festivals around the world GA is the norm not the exception and we believe it has a lot of added benefits for the festival. First, it make the booking process here on the Roxy website a smoother experience with less failed transactions. Second, we run the Fan Badge so we need to hold back seats for that. Third, it incentives fellow festival attendees to show up early and creates a rocking vibe. Fourth, The Roxy unlike other cinemas has been designed with a large dead space so even the front row is a good viewing experience. And finally, but most importantly, it means you can grab your tickets now, but arrange and convince more of your friends to come along later ... but you still get to sit together at the screenings.
