Terror-Fi Film Festival 2021, Roxy Cinema
Terror-Fi Film Festival 2021
Terror-Fi gets to go to school! We turn five this year and have one of our best line-ups ever!
To celebrate, join us at The Roxy, 27 October to 31 October, to enjoy latest and greatest genre and cult film from 2021 – and a few retro classics thrown in for good measure.
We have blockbuster premiere screenings of Guillermo del Toro produced horror ANTLERS, underwater horror THE DEEP HOUSE, and PRISONERS OF THE GHOSTLAND starring TFi favourite Nic Cage.
It wouldn’t be Terror-Fi without some brilliant indie gems to discover and this year has some of best; with dystopian thriller GLASSHOUSE, wicked twisted comedy THE BETA TEST, and vampire drama MY HEART CAN’T BEAT UNLESS YOU TELL IT TO – which reminded us of the feeling we got when we watched Let The Right One In for the first time. The UK documentary ALIEN ON STAGE is an utter delight; as is the most unintentionally hilarious film we have ever played… NEW YORK NINJA.
Our Halloween retro is the 1982 classic POLTERGEIST, complete with all the trimmings you’ve come to expect from our Halloween Night Event. Terror-Fi will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Peter Jackson classic THE FRIGHTENERS on the Saturday.
This year also sees the return of the SECRET SCREENING. You don’t want to miss that!

But what about if Wellington moves 'levels' again?
In compliance with Alert Level 2 all pre-sales with be limited to 100 tickets for Cinema 1. This cap will removed if Wellington moved back to Level 1. The 100 limit allows all groups to be distanced in the cinema.
If we’re in Level-2, ushers will direct you to a seat to ensure appropriate social distancing – starting at Row-F for Cinema 1 & Row-D for Cinema 2, and then moving back & forward from there. Please be in your groups before heading into the cinema and sit where you are told to help the ushers correctly seat everyone safely.
If we’re in Level 1, the cinemas will be available to seat to a sell-out.
If we’re Level-3 or 4 The Roxy will be closed, so we will look to postponing the festival to a later date. Refunds will be available if required.
